i will wrap you up in warmth until the sun rises
and wipe away every tear that falls through the night
i will adorn your walls with flowers
your voice with laughter
your song with harmony
your love with attention
i will water the seeds in the garden we’ll share
as we trim the stray branches and pull out the weeds
then let you lay down once more on my lap
running my hands through those blonde roots, grown
